• Business Class – The Business Class baggage allowance is as follows:
  • Cabin / Carry-on Baggage – Up to 2 cabin / carry-on baggage not exceeding 8 kg each and 1 personal item weighing no more than 4kg, is permitted at no additional cost to Business Class ticket holders.
  • Checked Baggage – Free checked baggage allowance of up to 30kg is offered to Business Class ticket holders.

Turkish Airlines Economy Class Baggage

Turkish Airlines baggage allowance for Economy Class is mentioned below; if passengers require additional baggage allowance it can be purchased.

• EcoFly – EcoFly is an Economy Class fare type and the Economy Class baggage allowance is as follows:
  • Cabin / Carry-on Baggage – 1 carry-on / cabin baggage weighing no more than 8 kg and 1 personal item weighing no more than 4kg, is permitted at no additional cost to EcoFly ticket holders.
  • Checked Baggage – Free checked baggage allowance of up to 15kg is offered to EcoFly ticket holders.
• ExtraFly – ExtraFly is an Economy Class fare type and the Economy Class baggage allowance is as follows:
  • Cabin / Carry-on Baggage – 1 carry-on / cabin baggage weighing no more than 8 kg and 1 personal item weighing no more than 4kg,  is permitted at no additional cost to ExtraFly ticket holders.
  • Checked Baggage – Free checked baggage allowance of up to 20kg is offered to ExtraFly ticket holders.
• PrimeFly – PrimeFly is an Economy Class fare type and the Economy Class baggage allowance is as follows:
  • Cabin / Carry-on Baggage – 1 carry-on / cabin baggage weighing no more than 8 kg and 1 personal item weighing no more than 4kg, is permitted at no additional cost to PrimeFly ticket holders.
  • Checked Baggage – Free checked baggage allowance of up to 25kg is offered to PrimeFly ticket holders.

Turkish Airlines Baggage Policy – Terms & Conditions

As per the Turkish Airlines Baggage Policy, baggage allowance is subject to the following terms and conditions:

• The linear dimension of each baggage must not exceed 158 cm [linear dimension = length + width + height]
• On Turkish Airlines baggage weight are restricted as follows:
  • Economy Class – Each baggage must not exceed 23kg.
  • Business Class – Each baggage must not exceed 32 kg.
• EcoFly ticket holders do not have free checked baggage allowance on international flights.
• Star Alliance Gold Card holders are offered an additional –
  • 1 extra piece of checked baggage allowance on routes with Piece Concept.
  • 20 kg extra checked baggage allowance on routes with Weight Concept. 
• Infants flying Turkish Airlines are entitled to a baggage allowance of up to 10 kg on routes with weight concept (exception of EcoFly package) and up to 23kg on routes with piece concept.

Buy Turkish Airlines Excess Baggage

On Turkish Airlines, extra baggage allowance can be purchased, if passenger(s) require it; passengers may buy excess baggage allowance via any of the airline’s office online channels or at the Turkish Airlines sales office / ticketing office / airport office.

Turkish Airlines baggage fees are only applicable to excess baggage; the baggage rate would differ on the basis of ticket class type and destination.

Turkish Airlines Extra Baggage – Terms & Conditions

• Sports equipment(s) and / or musical instrument(s) will not be regarded as “excess baggage”, instead they will fall under “special baggage” and a different set of terms / conditions would apply.
• Excess Baggage Allowance sales are subject to availability.
• Excess baggage allowance cannot be purchased for infants.
• Passengers can purchase Turkish Airlines excess baggage allowance from 355 days before flight up till 60 minutes remaining for domestic flights and up till 75 minutes hours remaining for international flights.
• Piece / Weight Concept Limits
  • On routes with Weight concept –  Every piece of baggage on Business Class / Economy Class, must not weigh more than 32 kg.
  • On routes with Piece concept –  Every piece of baggage on Business Class / Economy Class must not weigh more than 23 kg. $80.00 USD is charged for every piece of baggage weighing 23 to 32 kg.
• 3 kg to 230 kg / 1 piece up to 10 pieces of excess baggage allowance can be bought at one time from the airline’s online channels.
