Baggage Service

As per the terms of Vietnam Airlines Baggage Policy, “piece concept” is the method applied to the free baggage allowance on their flights. The free baggage allowance is as follows:

  • Carry-on Allowance:
    • Business/Cloud9: 2 carry-ons are allowed, with a weight of less than equal to 7kg each. Linear Dimension (L+B+H) of each must not exceed 118 centimeters.
    • Economy: 1 carry-on is allowed, of a weight less than equal to 7kg. Linear Dimension (L+B+H) should be less than equal to 115 centimeters.
  • Checked-in Baggage Allowance:
    • Within Asia-
      • Business Class: 30kg; linear dimension must not be more than 158 centimeters.
      • Economy: 20 kg; linear dimension must not be more than 158 centimeters.  
    • Europe, Middle East, Africa, Australia-
      • Business Class: 40 kg; linear dimension must not be more than 158 centimeters.
      • Economy Class: 30 kg; linear dimension must not be more than 158 centimeters.
    • North America, South America-
      • Business Class: 2 pieces of luggage; should be less than equal to 23 kg each and linear dimension must not be more than 158 centimeters.
      • Economy Class: 2 pieces of luggage; should be less than equal to 23 kg each and linear dimension must not be more than 158 centimeters.

All baggage that does not meet Vietnam Airlines standard requirements will be processed at an additional charge; fees and charges are subject to the flight route.

Pet Travel Service

Vietnam Airlines allows its passengers to arrange travel for their pets / animal companions, cats and dogs only, on their flights. The pets / animal companions can travel inside the aircraft cabin alongside the passenger or instead must be processed as checked baggage. The animal carrier/container should not exceed the dimension of 35 x 30 x 20 centimeters. Cat/dog along with their container/carrier must not exceed 6kg in weight and should be at least 10 weeks (approximately 2 and a half months) old at the time of intended flight. Relevant health status certificates are required, and this service must be requested at least 36 hours before the departure of the flight. The P.E.T.C. service is limited to Business Class in Boeing B787 and Airbus A350. This service is chargeable.

Some breeds of cats and dog are not permitted on Vietnam Airlines. Cancellation Service

Vietnam Airlines tickets can be cancelled within 24 hours from the time of book for a complete refund. Any cancellation after 24 hours from the time of booking is subject to the terms and conditions of the ticket and/or fare type.
