Baggage Service

Passengers are allowed a free baggage allowance for carry-on but, they need to pay additionally for checked baggage.

  • Carry-on Baggage: Air Arabia allows passengers to bring with them carry-on baggage, the weight must not exceed 10 kg and the linear dimensions(L+W+H) must be less than equal to 115 centimeters [46 inches].
    The following restrictions are in place:
Liquids/pastes/gels must be in separate containers of maximum 100ml each.Liquid containers should be placed within a transparent re-sealable plastic packet [20×20 centimeters].If flying through the “Middle East”, these items must be packed in a Secure Tamper-Evident Bag [STEB].[These restrictions are for flights departing from countries in Europe, Middle East and North Africa. All liquid matter that does not meet the limits of the restrictions must be disposed.]
  • Checked Baggage: Passengers can purchase the checked baggage allowance while booking their flight or at a later stage through “modify booking”; this is possible through the Air Arabia website/mobile app.

At airports the only checked baggage allowance which can be bought is 20kg however, on the Air Arabia website/mobile application, passengers have a wider range for the checked baggage allowance as per their need: 15kg, 20kg, 30kg and 40kg; the prices differ based on destination and are subject to excess baggage rates. The maximum allowed weight for each piece of baggage is 32kg and the linear dimensions (L+W+H) must not exceed 160 centimeters.

The following items are strictly PROHIBITED: Flammable, non-flammable and poisonous gasses, such as butane, oxygen, propane and aqualung cylinders; Flammable liquids and solids, such as lighter or heater fuels, paint and matches; Poisonous substances such as insecticides, weed killers, arsenic and cyanide; Radioactive material, oxidizing materials and organic peroxides. Firearms and explosives, such as handguns, automatic weapons, munitions and ammunitions. Infectious substances, such as bacteria and viruses; Corrosives, such as mercury, acids, alkalis and wet-cell batteries; Cooking oils; Striking matches and cigarette lighters.

Pet Travel Service

Only falcons are permitted inside the passenger cabin of the Air Arabia aircraft, as per the Air Arabia Pet Policy. Passengers looking to make reservations for the same must contact and request service at least 48 hours prior to the intended flight. The fee charged is 3 times the excess baggage fee, and if there is more than 1 falcon, an additional seat needs to be booked. 2 falcons are allowed per extra seat and no free baggage allowance is given on the extra seat(s).

Cancellation Service

Passengers with existing bookings of Air Arabia can make changes and cancellations either online through the Air Arabia website/mobile app or by contacting the Air Arabia Sales Office or calling the Air Arabia Customer Contact Center. All fees are subject to the terms and conditions defined by Air Arabia.

The cancellation charges applicable are as follows [these amounts may change at any time, they are at the discretion for Air Arabia]:

  • Cancellation 72 hours prior to departure: At least AED 150 or 30% of fare & surcharge. This is applied, per one-way route per passenger.
  • Cancellation between 72 – 24 hours prior to departure: At least AED 200 or 30% of fare & surcharge. This is applied, per one-way route per passenger.

***Note:

  • Cancellation charges of group bookings may differ, passengers need to contact the agency/office where the booking was made.
  • Air Arabia provides refunds in the form of credits [this is not applicable to flights to/from Cairo, Egypt] which can be used to book future flights within 1 year of the time/date of issuance.
  • Passengers who have bought Flexi or have an Extra Fare booking can cancel their tickets up to 8 hours before the flight is set to depart. No cancellation fee is charged.
  • All Air Arabia passengers with a booking to/from Cairo are entitled to a complete refund if they cancel their booking/ticket; subject to the rules and regulations of Air Arabia.
  • Flight bookings made to/from Morocco, once paid for, cannot be canceled.

Check-in

Passengers of Air Arabia can check-in for their intended flights through either of the following methods:

  • Online Check-in: The online check-in feature is available to all Air Arabia passengers on the Air Arabia website/ mobile application. The check-in stops 1 hour (for economy class) / 45 minutes (for business class) prior to departure time. 

The online check-in timings differ with respect to their point of origin:

  • The online check-in for flights departing from the United Arab Emirates / UAE becomes available 36 hours before departure.
  • For flights departing from Morocco and European countries, the online check-in becomes available 48 hours before the flights are set to depart.
  • For departing flights at all other airports, online check-in is available 24 hours before the time of departure.

This feature is available at most destination airports that Air Arabia flies to; however, there might be exceptions where the airport authorities do not accept online check-in/ e-boarding passes, in such scenarios, passengers must check-in at the Air Arabia Airport Counter.

  • Airport Check-in: The Air Arabia airport counter opens 3 hours before a flight is set for departure; passengers must utilize this time window to check-in for their flight. The check-in for Air Arabia Economy Class passengers stops 1 hour before departure and for Air Arabia Business Class passengers the check-in ends 45 minutes before departure.

Special Assistance

Air Arabia provides special assistance to passengers with special needs and disabilities. Wheelchairs are provided free of charge; AED 50 is charged for other special assistance. Passengers are required to present supporting documents when requesting use of special assistance service.
